nullI need to ask for prayers of celebration to God please. There was a car accident on Monday night involving one of OUR CTK families and the other car included an infant. A mistake was made by the other car. But here is the celebration part - while the devil was able to cause total destruction to both vehicles, we celebrate because no one died. Other than rattled nerves and a few bumps and bruises (including the baby), everyone survived this horrific ordeal. Please say a prayer of thanks that one of OUR CTK families is able to celebrate life, is able to revel in Christmas fellowship, and praise the arrival of a different baby, Jesus Christ. Thank you God for allowing this family to kiss their loved ones goodnight one more time.

CTK then needs to thank you for supporting our families who struggle financially. Thirteen families applied for scholarships this year. Obviously I was concerned because the scholarship fund was not at the level it has been in the past. I knew that God would provide, but I also had a small seed of doubt to think that this would be the year where CTK would not be able to help all of its families.  Please remember that the CTK scholarship fund is a fund that is supported through private donations and memorials. No money is budgeted for this school account. The day before scholarships were awarded, a check was received by an anonymous family which raised the fund over $20,000 for the year. This put a smile on my heart. The scholarship committee met and awarded $16,630 to families in need. To God be the glory, Amen.

Christ the King would like to invite all of you to its Wednesday chapel services. Starting next week for the entire Advent season, Immanuel Lutheran Church and CTK will be offering a different worship experience. Starting December 6th, chapel services will be held in the afternoon at the Sebewaing campus. Advent in the Afternoon will allow you to come at 2:25 PM and attend an Advent service with Christ the King Lutheran School. This will also be taking place on December 13th and 20th. We pray that you come and enjoy this worship experience with us. There will still be an Advent service at 7 PM at Immanuel if you need a later time. The Unionville Campus will still hold chapel at its regular time of 9:30 AM on Wednesday on those days. If you have any questions, please feel free to give the school a call.

CTK would also like to offer a different invitation as well. Valley Lutheran will be holding a cottage meeting for all parents in Grades 5-8 today at 3 PM. This will be a meeting where you are able to hear about the Valley Lutheran High School experience and see if this might be something you would like your child to experience. This will be happening in the cafeteria at CTK, Sebewaing. Please think about taking some time and listening to Mrs. Sondra Yantz and her contingent from Valley Lu.

Finally, it is my pleasure to invite you to one last worship event. The students have begun practicing for the Christ the King Lutheran School Christmas programs. There are two different Christmas programs, one held at Unionville campus and one held at Sebewaing campus. The Unionville Campus Christmas Program will be led by the Preschool-First Grade students. There will again be two different programs. The first program will be taking place on Friday, December 15th at 10 AM. The second program will take place on Sunday, December 17th with the program taking place at 4 PM. The Sebewaing Campus Christmas Program will be led by the Second-Eighth Grade students. This will be taking place on Wednesday, December 20th, starting at 7 PM. We invite you to come and watch our students share the love of Jesus Christ.

I pray that you make a difference in God’s ministry this week.

In HIS ministry,

David Kaiser, Principal
